C9 have had another successful week, with good attendance at 96.7%. Highlights of our week include: developing our note-taking skills in preparation for our report on life in Ancient Greece; becoming more confident with 4-digit numbers, partitioning them in different ways and challenging ourselves with problem-solving questions; building our fitness levels and balancing skills in PE and exploring the Trim Trail, playing board games and engaging in sensory experiences during Golden Time.

Hand Writer of the Week: Racheiya -for concentrating hard on our new handwriting workouts
Mathematician of the week: Jack -for working hard on thousand numbers
In English, C9 started their unit on report writing, using journalistic skills to read information and identify suitable headings and sub-headings for different sections. They have challenged themselves in maths to understand and represent thousands as well as doing plenty of times tables practice!
Other highlights include: Headteacher Story Time where they sang climate songs and read about the science of the brain; doing a daily body workout to improve handwriting skills, and of course, meeting together in our Beechwood Houses for the first time, reciting our chants with real enthusiasm.

Please start to look at these online platforms with your child this week- they are really fun way to practise spelling skills and build fluency in times tables.

We have had a lovely first few days back at school and the children have made a really positive start to Year 4. Attendance and punctuality have been excellent – thank you!
Everyone has also looked fantastic in our new active wear uniform, which has helped make the start of term feel especially fresh and exciting.
The children have done brilliantly learning our new classroom routines and rules, and it has been wonderful to see how quickly they are settling in. There has also been lots of excitement about the new Beechwood Houses and finding out which house everyone belongs to.
Alongside getting to know one another, we have enjoyed playing maths games, sharing and exploring some of our new reading books, and thinking about how different feelings can show themselves in our bodies.
A highlight for many children was our first Golden Time of the year – a lovely way to finish a very successful first few days!
