Class 9

Some of Year 4 have been involved in a very exciting project with Chapel FM radio station in Seacroft. When they were in Year 3, they wrote a play with a drama specialist called Matthew Bellwood about the statues in Leeds city centre. Each child wrote as one of the statues and they had great fun performing their part in the radio studio. The play was recorded and it is now available to listen to again on the website of Chapel FM. It is called the Dortmund Drayman and is a story connecting the barrelman statue in Leeds with the identical statue that stands in a square in Dortmund in Germany. The Downhearted Drayman was also made into a book and there will be a copy of it in each library in Leeds. The children were very impressed with their work and their play sounded fantastic.
