  • Easter egg competition

    Thu 26 Mar 2015

This week in our assemblies, Reverend Fiona came in to school to speak to us about Easter. Children now all have a better understanding of why we have chocolate eggs at Easter time.

Next week in school we are going to have an Easter competition. This is just for fun and for children to join in with if they want to. Children can decorate an egg using any resources that they wish. Children may decide that they would like to make their egg into a character. We would also like parents to join in with this competition! As well as a competition for children we will be having another competition for parents.

All entries should be in school by the end of the day on Wednesday 1st April so that they can be judged and winners will be announced in assembly on Thursday 2nd. There will be a prize for the most creative egg in each class as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for parents.

We look forward to seeing your decorated eggs.

Last week at Beechwood Primary School

Year 2 really enjoyed their day at Temple Newsham for a den building workshop. Children thought about what it would be like to be an explorer having to make shelters to sleep in using different resources.

On Friday morning, children enjoyed learning about a solar eclipse and classes watched this on their classroom whiteboards.

Year 1, 2 and 3 had an assembly thinking about our link school in South Africa.

On Friday afternoon Beechwood Trust Choir enjoyed performing at Cross Gates Primary School with the Trust Choirs from Cross Gates, White Laith and Grange Farm. All four choirs rehearsed together and performed very successfully to Cross Gates School. On Monday 30th March the children will be performing again at ELFM in Seacroft. This will be at 3.30pm for a rehearsal and at 4.00pm to parents and carers. ELFM also plan to record the session to play on one of their shows.

This week Miss Hobson is in South Africa visiting our link school. Please read her blog on the blogging page on childrens page of the website to find out more about her visit.
