    Monday 20th July 2015

Today children and staff all had a brilliant time at Temple Newsam for our whole school reward day. Year 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed listening to stories with Matthew Bellwood inside Temple Newsam House and Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3 all enjoyed visiting the farm. Lots of children had outdoor workshops with some of the park rangers who work at Temple Newsam, the activities included minibeast hunting and creating clay sculptures. Everyone enjoyed exploring the grounds for the scavenger hunt and there were lots of creative suggestions. It was brilliant to see the whole school having lunch together on the field in front of the house.

Please remember that Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th September are staff training days so school will open to pupils on Wednesday 9th September.

We hope that everyone has a fantastic summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in September.

    Monday 13th July

This week is Spirit Alive. All of the children are very excited about the week ahead. Today all children will go to the class that they will be working with this week and will start learning about their country. During the day there will be an opening ceremony and at the end of the day there will be a performance by the children who play the steel pans. Most classes will also have a cricket workshop during the day!

On Tuesday from 9 until 11am it is the Mini Olympics for children in Year 1, 2 and 3 and on Wednesday from 9 - 11 the Mini Olympics for Year 4, 5 and 6. You are welcome to come and watch this if the weather is dry, however the plan will change if it rains and we have to do this indoors.

There are lots of other exciting events going on throughout the week including skipping, dance and music workshops that the children are all looking forward to.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the closing ceremony on Thursday.
