    Last week all children enjoyed an assembly with Mrs Shaw to find out more about her visit to India as part of our international links. Her blog is also available on the blogging section of the website and photos will be uploaded to the international page of the website.

    Nursery and Reception enjoyed a visit from the fire fighters this week. The children had a great time meeting the firemen and asking them questions.  They also had a chance to look at the parts of the fire engine and sit inside. Year 1 have been working hard on the final drafts of their instructions on how to make a toy, you can look at some of these on Class 3 page.  Year 3 have been busy researching information for their Viking final outcomes that they will be working on over the next week.

    This week children will all have an assembly by the Year 6 children who went to Paris a few weeks ago. We will also be having a non uniform day on Friday where children have been asked to bring a food item in that can be used to create a hamper for the Christmas Fair.

    Last week was a very busy week for all classes in school. Year 6 went on their residential to Paris for the week and had a brilliant time. Look on Mrs Darnbrough's blog on the blogging page of the website and the photographs on the Year 6 class pages to discover more about this residential. Children enjoyed dressing up on Friday in their pyjamas or as super heroes to raise money for Children in Need. Lots of buns were also sold to raise lots of money.

    Leah from Year 6 went to meet the Lord Mayor of Leeds on Thursday afternoon as part of her competition entry to be the Leeds Children's Mayor. From the 38 schools that entered the competition, Leah was one of the 12 finalists - what an achievement Leah!

    This week Mrs Shaw has gone to India to visit Mayo college, read her blog on the blogging page of the website.

    Also this week, Year 3 are going to Danelaw to discover more about the Vikings as part of their thematic study unit. Year 5 are going to Armley Mills to support their thematic study unit.

    Last week children all returned after their half term break ready for another busy 7 weeks. There are lots of great things planned between now and Christmas including lots of visits, visitors and a residential for Year 6.

    Year 3 enjoyed their Anglo Saxon workshop on Friday, it was great to see how much the children have already learnt about invaders and settlers this term.

    Year 1 and 2 have had a visit from D.side learning about internet safety.

    On Friday Year 5 went on a visit to the Civic Hall for a debating afternoon as part of our focus on improving speaking and listening skills.
