Year 2 had a fantastic time in Scarborough on Thursday! We enjoyed building sandcastles with our friends and going on donkey rides!

We worked in groups to see who could build the biggest tower using only white paper! We had to try and try again which was quite difficult. Well done to this week's certificate winners! Year 2 have worked really hard this week on their tests.

Year 2 have worked so hard this week. We had the best time at The Deep where we loved seeing lots of different sea creatures. Well done to this week's certificate winners!

This week we started our Habitats topic in Science and we went to the garden to find different minibeasts.

Year 2 has had a great week back. We started our 'Seaside' topic and had our launch lesson where we thought of what we wanted to learn. We started a new book called 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' and we acted out different parts of the story. 

24th March

In Science, we investigated the stretchiness of different elastic so we could make an effective catapult. Well done to Sivh and Daisy on their home learning and well done to this week’s certificate winners!

3rd March

We made maps and globes with the continents and oceans of the world. We had a great World Book Day and loved wearing our pyjamas to school and reading our books with torches and hot chocolate.

We went on a materials hunt in Science so we could describe the properties of things in our outside area. Well done to Mia, Tyler, Scarlett and Oli for your certificates this week.

We had a great lesson with Artis acting out the moon landing. Well done to Oliver on his excellent home learning and to all those who have been reading at home regularly.

We had a great time in the Stardome where we learnt lots of interesting facts about Space.

We had a great time with Artis where we pretended we were journalists reporting on the moon landing. Well done to Scarlett on her home learning and well done to this week's certificate winners!

20th January

We made some red money envelopes to celebrate Chinese New Year. We did some outdoor maths based on fractions. Some children have been doing their own Space research at home which is very impressive. Well done to our certificate winners this week too!

6th January 2023

Class 6 have had a great week back. We learnt some space poems which we performed for each other. We did some excellent maths outside where we focused on division.

9th December

We have been busy sewing our South African puppets this week in DT. We are very pleased with how they have turned out.

11th November 

Class 6 were very lucky this week because Matthew Bellwood came in to tell us an African story which we also got to act out. We have done some great maths outside too which has helped us with our understanding of numbers up to 100. Well done to Mya, Emilio and Lacey on their certificates.

4th November

Class 6 worked very hard in maths this week as we are continuing to focus on addition and subtraction. Well done to Andrew, Emmanuel and Mia on their certificates this week! 

21st October

This week’s certificate winners were Lewis, Norman, Oli and George. Well done!

The children worked really hard this week to learn about Nelson Mandela for our Black History Month assembly to parents.

This half term, we have really enjoyed our drumming sessions where we have had the chance to play the Bamboo Tambo drums.
