Class 6

25th June

 

Class 6 have worked so hard this week learning to tell the time. We also all got to see and hold some African sun beetles which was very exciting. Well done Lewis and Cj for your certificates.

11th June

 

This week we went to the garden to look for and draw different types of plants for our new science topic. We are going to plant our own seeds in a science experiment so we can find out what plants need to grow.
 

28th May

Class 6 have had a very busy week this week. We produced some fantastic shell artwork that we are very proud of.

21st May

 

Year 2 had a great time learning the story of 'Punch and Judy' this week with Matthew Bellwood. Well done Summer, Aaliyah and Savannah on your certificates this week.

14th May

Year 2 have worked very hard this week! We had a great day learning all about different animal habitats. We learnt about coral reef, rivers, rock pools and the polar regions. Well done Jimmar and Connor on your certificates this week.

Year 2 have worked really hard this week, particularly with learning their times tables and with their writing. Well done, Colby, Evan and Ellis for your certificates this week!

30th April

Class 6 enjoyed going out into the school garden looking for different habitats. We saw a froglet in the pond which was very exciting. Well done Preston and Morrison for winning this week's certificates.

2nd April

This week we've been busy researching Mount Everest, Antartica and The Arctic. We then decided how to represent them and we are very proud of our creations!

26th March

We have been busy this week writing letters and learning the column method in maths. I have been very proud of how hard Class 6 have worked this week. Ellis was 'star of the week' and Morrison and Hollie got a certificate for their hard work this week too.

19th March

We are lucky this week because we got to visit a fantastic Stardome that came to school. We learnt all about The Solar System and the first moon landing. Connor was 'Star of the Week' this week!

12th March

It has been great to have all of the children back in school this week, they have all settled in very well too. We had a great time doing some superhero yoga in PE, as part of 'Mindful March' and acting out what we thought would happen in the rest of the story we are reading in English - Dougal the Deep -sea Diver.

4th March - World Book Day

Year 2 had a great day celebrating World Book Day. We read a new story called 'Bob and the Moon Tree Mystery' by Simon Bartram. We then worked in small groups to create our amazing 'Book in a Box' where we recreated different scenes from the story.

We had a great week including exploring the Seacroft jungle with Matthew Bellwood and some Space art!

4th December

 

Year 2 are very pleased with their fantastic 3D maps of South Africa. We have also been continuing to work on our times tables and we are learning to divide.

27th November

 

Class 6 had a great 'No Pens Wednesday' this week. We made some South African repeated patterns and we also began making our 3D maps of South Africa! We also got to take part in some drumming on Thursday which we really enjoyed.

 

20th November 

Class 6 have worked so hard this week in both their maths and writing. We have been focusing on learning our 2, 5 and 10 times tables and understanding multiplication. Well done to everyone!

13th November

We are lucky enough to have Matthew Bellwood in on Monday and he taught us a brilliant South African story called 'Awungelama'. We also got to act out the story which we really enjoyed. 

6th November

 

Year 2 have had a great first week back since the half term break. We have been trying hard to learn our 2, 10 and 5 times tables and have done some writing about the life of Nelson Mandela.

We made our own exercise routines in P.E.

We acted out the story 'The Greedy Zebra'.
