Week Ending 21/03/2025
This week we have been matching baby animals to the adult animal. Children have enjoyed listening to the story 'How does an egg hatch' and having a try at ordering the life cycle of a hen. We have been securing our knowledge of the number 4 for the second week.
Our Cedric ate winners are Maeve and Ava.
Nursery blog: Week ending 14/03/2025
Nursery have been celebrating International women's week. We talked about the girls and women that are important to us. Nursery learnt about Simone Biles and were amazed at her fanatics gymnastic skills and how many gold medals she has won. She is inspirational! We made medals, Olympic rings and practised our gymnastic skills outside.
Our winners this week were Leo, Rowan, Taio and Lewie.
Nursery blog: week ending 07/03/2025
Children enjoyed a 'just bee' workshop that involved mindful yoga around the story of 'The odd egg'. Nursery loved dancing to the lively music and pretending to be dinosaurs and butterflies.
Nursery children also loved going on the story bus. They sang songs with Sally and shared stories.
This week we have been matching baby and adult animals and having a go at naming them. Children have also spent a second week learning about the number 3.
The nursery blog- 28/02/2025
This week we have done the launch for our new topic 'new life'. Children were fascinated with finding signs of life outside in the magic garden. We talked about what animals come out of eggs and children all said dinosaurs come out of eggs. Children searched for dinosaurs outside, measured dinosaur bones and printed using dinosaur feet. This week we have started focusing on the number 3.
Our certificate winners are Khadija, Lenny, Holly and Bilal!
Nursery Blog- Weekend Ending 14th February
Nursery have had a fantastic week. We have loved making more maps for our pirate week. Children were great at building a huge pirate ship outside, making sure it had sails, flag and a plank! We enjoyed our special love day. It was great to see and hear about all of our special toys and photographs that we brought in to share.
Nursery Blog- Weekend Ending 7th February
This week in Nursery we have enjoyed learning about Supertato. We made our own Supertato's, printed with vegetables and made maps to help us find the evil pea. Our learning journey display is getting very full now with all the wonderful work children have been creating. Children have enjoyed learning about the number 2 and can find 2 of different items inside and outside. As part of children's mental health week some year 6 children came to visit us and read us stories.

Nursery Blog-Week ending 31st January
Children in nursery have been learning about Chinese new year. We have learnt that this year it is the year of the snake. Children have made Chinese lanterns, Chinese dragons and Chinese blossom trees. Mrs Lyon's mum has been in Cambodia this week so sent us some photos of what Chinese new year looks like there. We have enjoyed writing the numbers 1,2 and 3 in Chinese too.
Nursery Blog Week ending 25th January 2025
Nursery have enjoyed learning about castles this week. They have remembered that there are real prince, princesses, kings and queens but also ones that are fantasy characters.
We have also been focusing on the number 1. Children are able to find 1 around the classroom inside and outside.
Our winners are Ava and Luca.
Nursery have had a great week. We have been setting up our own role play areas inside and outside. Children have been interested in princesses and princes so we have created a castle inside. Nursery have created fantastic crowns and wands to support this area. We have started to talk about the fact that some princes and princesses are fantasy characters but there are real royals too! Our new children have settled in well and are enjoying their full sessions now.

20th December
Nursery have had a wonderful week. We enjoyed our Christmas party! We met Santa and he sung to us. He also brought us sweets! Children enjoyed singing songs to him too! We ate lots of party food and did some fantastic dancing!




13th December
Nursery had a wonderful nativity with carols and crafts. Children enjoyed singing to the grown ups. Afterwards children accessed all the lovely Christmas crafts. It was a huge success!
Thanks again for coming!
Awards:
All children got a certificate for working hard learning songs for the Nursey Nativity.





6th December
Nursery have had a lovely week. We have been continuing to learn songs for our Nursery Nativity next week and we are excited to share these with the grown ups next week. Children have enjoyed our new transient art area and are using the resources available to create some wonderful pieces of art.
Our certificate winners are Charlie and Zoe.








29th November
We have had another wonderful week in Nursery getting prepared for Christmas. Nursery have enjoyed weaving with tinsel and decorating the Christmas trees. We have enjoyed playing in the magic garden this week even though it's been very cold. Children noticed we had workmen in school and wanted to see what they are doing. We went to watch them and enjoyed seeing how they used their tools.
Winners this week are Charlie for coming in beautifully to Nursery after having a long time off poorly and Maeve for fantastic subitising.










22nd November
This week we have been delighted to welcome so many visitors. Lisa, Dave and Graham came to talk about the special jobs they did at school. We also had a visit from a Doctor and a Nurse. They talked about their special jobs and how they look after babies and adults. Children have enjoyed learning about all the different jobs that help us in our community.
We also loved playing in the snow. Children liked touching the snow and ice inside too!








15th November
Nursery have had a great week. We have done our launch lesson now and children have thought of some great ideas for our new topic 'Our community'. We have created poppies this week using a range of materials. Children are getting very competent with colour mixing using the powder paints now.
Well done to our certificate winners this week.











13th November
Nursery have been exploring the changes in our magic garden. We have enjoyed making piles of leaves and throwing the, over ourselves!



8th November
This week children in Nursery have developed their listening skills. All children have enjoyed story time and were given stickers for good listening. Children are also learning to take turns playing games in small groups.Children have enjoyed hearing about Divali and how it is celebrated. They have made diva lamps with playdough and drawn patterns on a hand outline to represent mehndi patterns. Many children talked about watching fireworks and used paint to represent them . A fantastic start to this half term.
25th October
Nursery children have been exploring their senses this week. We have learnt the makaton that matches each sense too. Children loved exploring the pumpkin, talking about its smell, what it looked like and what it felt like. We have also enjoyed creating hedgehogs and Autumnal pictures.








18th October
We have had a wonderful week in Nursery learning about our pets. Children enjoyed the stories 'Dear Zoo' and 'I'm thinking of a pet'. We learnt Makaton for dog, cat, rabbit and fish. Children loved the new song 'In my house I have a pet'. It has also been lovely to access our magic garden again. Children are getting better at getting their own waterproofs and wellies on now. They have enjoyed observing the changes in the trees now it's Autumn.
11th October
This week Nursery children have been learning about babies. We were very excited to welcome a visitor with a lovely baby. Nursery children thought of questions to ask to find out more about babies. Some children thought babies could go to the toilet and eat food when they are first born. We found out lots of great information.
Certificate winners are Archie for fantastic writing of his name and Teslim for doing some great maths work.




4th October
Nursery children have had a great week exploring their talents. We read the book 'The talent show' and had our very own talent show. We danced, sung and demonstrated some great gymnastics moves! Children enjoyed creating their own stage and performing these talents to their friends.


27th September
Nursery children have had a wonderful week learning about our families. We read the stories 'So much' and 'Owl babies' and talked about our own families. Nursery children also talked about grandparents, cousins, aunties and uncles. We made our families using natural resources including leaves, sticks and grass.
On Thursday we enjoyed our European languages day. We made flags and learnt how to say hello and thank you in different languages. Zoe and Kezias family taught us some words in Hungarian and Portuguese.
Awards go to Ariela for fabulous counting during our number songs and Meila for settling in very well to Nursery.












20th September
Nursery children have been exploring the features of our faces and making funny ones using photos. We are continuing to explore the areas in nursery, make friends and develop our fine motor skills.
Winners: Maeve for settling in well to nursery and Jasper for fantastic counting.





13th September
This week Nursery children have been learning how to access the areas of provision and have been making some new friends. We enjoyed the story 'funnybones' especially the skeleton song!
Kezia and Taio have won our certificates. Well done to them!




6th September
Nursery have had a great week. We have met our new friends and enjoyed playing with our new toys.
We can't wait for everyone to start next week.
