This week, we have been reading a new story called 'The Lighthouse Keeper's lunch' and we have really enjoyed it. We summarised the story by acting out the main parts in groups and then performed them for the rest of the class.

26th April

 

This week Class 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to The Deep as part of their seaside topic. The children learnt about the different habitats that animals live in near the British coast and got the chance to see lots of different sea creatures up close!

8th March

We enjoyed carrying out their own investigations in science. We decided on different things we would like to freeze and then observe. We were really surprised to find out that the oil and paint turned solid! 
We had a fantastic book day and everyone looked brilliant in their costumes.

15th February

 

Year 2 have had a fantastic half term and we have been so impressed with how hard they have worked. This week, we carried out some of our own space research and we are really proud of our outcomes. We also finished our brilliant space art. We have really enjoyed learning about space and what the different planets are like.

9th November

 

Class 6 have had a great start to the half term! We were lucky enough to have Matthew Bellwood in on Tuesday to do some drama with us. We acted out the story 'Awungelama' which is a traditional African story.

5th October

 

On No Pens Wednesday the children had a fantastic time during a workshop where they got to learn about and handle a variety of cold blooded creatures such as a snake, a tortoise, a bearded dragon and a tarantula.

7th September 

 

This week Class 5 made a great start to year 2. As part of our topic 'South Africa', children explored a range of information books, artefacts and photos to decide on questions they would like to answer this term.
