28th June

 

This week we have done some wonderful recount writing about our visit to Skipton Castle.  We continued to learn about castles in our session with Shine. Also as part of the history element of our Homes Around the World topic  we have been learning about Viking long houses. We  came in wearing some magnificent costumes and had an amazing workshop teaching us about life in a Viking longhouse.

14th June

 

Well done to all the children who got a certificate this week. 

Jack brought in some amazing home learning and he presented it to the class. Thank you Jack. It was amazing.

The children did an amazing sponsored walk. They went round the golden mile 292 times in total. Wow!

Cairo did an amazing presentation about his heritage. He put a lot of work into his poster and we were all really impressed. Well done Cairo.

8th March

 

We had an amazing time in York. The children learned about York's history and experienced a wide variety of food shops from around the world. The Chocolate Story was a brilliant experience, and the children learned about the history of chocolate as well as making and eating chocolate. Well done, Year One.

Well done to our certificate winners for the past few weeks

The children had an amazing play in the snow. Playing in the snow offers a rich learning environment that engages children physically, cognitively, emotionally, and socially. Their laughter and joy rippled across the playground.

22nd December

 

The children had an amazing Christmas party. We played lots of games, had a disco and ate lots of food. The children's behaviour was excellent, and they all had a fabulous time. Thank you so much for all the food.

8th December

 

The children had an amazing week. Their behaviour was excellent on the trip, and they were all mesmerised by the performance of The Enormous Crocodile.

Well done to Alfie who got a gold award this week.
Cael and Cairo were so proud of their superstar awards, and Cooper was the mathematician of the week for his amazing maths.

We had a great day raising money for Children in need. The cakes and buns looked and tasted amazing.
Well done everyone.


Well done Kooper, Ava and Emmanuel for getting a Gold Award this week.
Kooper also got a handwriting award.
Marley and Layla got a special award and Alfie was the mathematician of the week.
 

10th November

 

The children went on a visit to Eureka to learn about the senses and find out more about themselves and the world around them.

Eureka! isn't like other museums. Eureka! is an extraordinary fun-packed day out. It has six unique zones to discover, each filled with hundreds of interactive exhibits designed to inspire inquisitive minds to find out about themselves and the world around them. 

The children had an amazing learning experience and every single child in Year One behaved like little superstars!

13th October

 

The children acted out The Train Ride. They joined in with the language used in the story and thought of amazing ideas to represent the story using drama.

Well done to the children who got certificates this week. The children all worked hard so it was difficult to choose.

6th October

29th September

 

We have been learning about the seasons in science and exploring the changes which happen in autumn.

Kooper and Layla have been picking pumpkins and learning about plants that grow in autumn. They shared what they had done with the class and let the children use their senses to explore the vegetables.

Jack brought in an amazing medal and certificate which he won a boxing club. Well done, Jack.

15th September

 

It was very hard to choose some superstars this week, as all the children tried their best. We had two children who managed to achieve a gold award, two superstars and a mathematician of the week..
