We enjoyed taking part in a Punch and Judy puppet workshop with Matthew Bellwood this week. We wanted to find out more about what people used to do for fun at the seaside in the past. We enjoyed watching the show, acting the story out in costumes and making puppets
This week's certificate winners were Joshua, Nadia, Evie McKai and Amelia K for working really hard all last half term. Lots of children also received a certificate for reading at least 3 times a week last half term. Well done!
This week all the children in our class received a certificate for trying their best in their SATs tests. We are really proud of you all.
The children really enjoyed the Jubilee activities this week and baked some delicious cakes for the school bake off.
This week Y2 went on a trip to The Deep in Hull to learn about sea creatures and their habitats. We had a brilliant time and we enjoyed learning lots of new things.
Evie and Faria have been busy with their home learning creating some seaside-inspired art. They are fantastic!
We started our new topic 'Seasides' this week. The children enjoyed the launch lesson where they started to look at different information books, maps, photographs and artefacts from the past to help us decide on some important questions we want to answer this term.

Evie and Faria both entered the poster competition for this year's science week. The theme was 'Growth'. They produced some amazing work!
The children really enjoyed working in groups this week to design and build their own shelters in DT.
Class 5 had a brilliant time during our trip to Ledston Woods. We enjoyed working in groups to build our own dens.

This week we had an exciting visit from the Stardome in school. We learnt all about the Solar System.

This week Matthew Bellwood came in to school and we took part in an Explorers workshop as part of our topic this term. We got into character and learnt what it would be like to be an explorer in the jungle. We had lots of fun!

This week we have worked really hard to make our animal puppets in DT. Have a look at our finished work.
We had a great day on Wednesday for No Pens Day. D-Side came in to teach us about keeping safe online and Matthew Bellwood did some storytelling with us. We also worked in pairs to solve some 2D shape problems in maths.

This week, Matthew Bellwood came into school to tell us a traditional African tale called 'Awungelama'. We really enjoyed learning the story and acting it out. We will be retelling the story in our own words in English.
This week 18 children in class 5 received a reading certificate for reading at least three times a week at home! Well done everyone. Nova and Brody were our PE stars this half term for their effort and work during our gymnastics lessons.

This week, year 2 had a fantastic trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park to learn more about animals that live in Africa as part of our topic work. We really enjoyed getting to see the pride of lions, zebras, giraffes and the leopard! In the afternoon, we took part in a workshop called Furs, Feathers and Scales. We found out more about the different types of animals we have been learning about in science as well as getting the chance to see and touch different reptiles and insects.
