Class 13

Interfaith week

We have learnt about various different religions and beliefs this week. We has an assembly about Islam, a zoom about Christianity and a visitor speaking to us about Sikhism! We were all very fascinated to hear about different people’s beliefs and experiences.

Science- outdoor learning

This week as part of our classifying animals and plants topic we went to the school garden to find different types of plants and animals. Some of us looked for insects, flowering plants and ferns. We realised we wouldn’t find many different species of mammals and fungi on the school grounds so focused on species accessible to us.

This week in DT class 13 were challenged to create a chair using only paper and glue as part of our topic on bridges and structures.  Hopefully after learning more about structures and strong attachments our bridges will be stronger than our chairs.

Science

Class 13 are learning about the classification of living things this term in science. This week we looked at how to classify different plants based on the common observable characteristics we explored. Using this knowledge, we then designed our own garden centres!
