Reception

On Wednesday Reception enjoyed Earth day, we had lots of fun talking about our Earth and how we must protect it. We learnt a song with Shine about saving our ocean, we went on a walk around the magic garden to look for signs of Spring, we planted beans, we made earth pictures and blossom pictures. We made a card to celebrate David Attenborough's birthday and discussed his work. In our card we included a poem we had a go at writing.
We also enjoyed reading the story Dear Earth and then wrote letters to our Earth.

On Wednesday it was this term’s Climate Joy Day. We enjoyed doing lots of activities in provision whilst learning the impact of travelling in cars, planes, buses. We learned the importance of walking where possible. We enjoyed creating posters and pictures to show this. We also brought our scooters and bikes to show this is a healthier and more environmentally friendly way to travel. We even got to have a bike wash.

We had a climate drawing club focus where we watched captain planet and created our own superhero to keep our climate safe and clean.
We went on a hunt around school and found everything on our list and we also talked about natural, recyclable and non recyclable rubbish.
