              5th May
This week we have been learning about materials in our science work. We enjoyed the buffet food on Wednesday at the special coronation lunch. Don't forget to design, make, paint, or draw a crown to enter the competition for next Tuesday.
We are also looking forward to our trip to The Deep next Thursday.
28th April
This week we started our Habitats topic in Science and we went to the garden to find different minibeasts. We also did some more drama with Shine from ArtIs.

We launched our new TSU topic this week, all about 'The Seaside' and we did some drama with Shine from ArtIs about the seaside now and about the seaside in the past. We have had lots of great ideas about what we want to learn in this topic and we are very excited about it!

This week we have been working hard to design and make African animal puppets. We think they look brilliant and we can't wait to play with them!
In this week’s good work assembly, we celebrated the children who had worked really hard this half term and have shown a brilliant attitude towards their learning.

We really enjoyed taking part in Children in Need and No Pens Wednesday this week. It was great to have parents in our classroom to look at the work we have done so far this term and enjoy Ian's Mobile Farm we them.

This week's certificate winners were Isabella, Miyah, Amelia and Theo. Well done! Lots of children also received an attendance certificate for the last half term.

This week we really enjoyed Matthew Bellwood coming into school to tell us the traditional African tale 'Awunglema'. We had a fantastic time retelling the story and acting it out.

This week lots of children received a certificate for reading 3 or more times each week this half term. Davida got the science award and Isabella received the PE award. Well done!
The children have been working really hard this week to create African patterns by making their own printing tiles.
 
               
               
               
               
               
              The children have been learning about Nelson Mandela and took part in our Black History Month assembly to parents.

We had a fantastic trip this week to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park to learn about different types of animals and see some of the animals that come from Africa.

This half term we have been enjoying our drumming sessions using the Bamboo Tamboo drums. We also had another Artis session to explore different vocabulary through drama.
