Nursery

On wednesday 4th March we celebrated Climate Joy Day!  We began by talking about the different ways we travel to nursery. The children enjoyed sharing whether they walk, ride their bike or scooter, come on the bus, or travel by car. Together, we created a pictogram to record our results, and the children helped to count carefully and compare which type of transport was the most popular.
After exploring our pictogram, we discussed how some ways of travelling are kinder to our planet. We talked about how walking, riding a bike or scooter, and travelling by bus can help reduce pollution and protect the environment. The children were enthusiastic about thinking of ways they could make greener choices in their everyday journeys.
To finish our celebration, we had lots of fun washing our bikes and scooters, getting them sparkling clean and ready for future adventures! There was plenty of teamwork, scrubbing, splashing, and of course, lots of big smiles.
What a wonderful way to learn about caring for our planet while enjoying time together!

To celebrate Climate Joy Day, we spent some lovely time outdoors enjoying all the wonders of the autumn season!
The children went on an autumn walk, looking carefully at the changes happening in our environment. We collected lots of autumn treasures along the way — shiny conkers, crunchy leaves, and interesting sticks. The children were so excited to spot all the different shapes, sizes and colours around them!
When we returned, we used our collections to create our very own Autumn Investigation Station 🍃. The children used magnifying glasses to take a closer look at the textures and patterns on the leaves and conkers, and enjoyed sorting, counting, and comparing their finds.
We used some of our beautiful leaves to do leaf printing! The children printed their leaves in autumn colours, noticing the different patterns the veins made.
It was a wonderful day full of curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for the natural world around us
