Year 2

As part of Earth Day, Year 2 explored the outdoor areas around school in search of different animals that have settled on school grounds. We then thought about how we could attract more wildlife to Beechwood.

Climate Curriculum – Summer Term – Home Learning

Year 2 engaged in some wonderful learning all about Antarctica as part of our Climate Joy activities. They explored the unique wildlife that inhabits this frozen continent, learned about the extreme weather conditions, and discovered the impact of climate change on the region. Through interactive discussions, research, and creative projects, pupils developed a deeper understanding of why Antarctica is so important to our planet. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made for an inspiring and thought-provoking learning experience!

For Climate Day on Wednesday, we learned about endangered animals and what can be done to help them from becoming extinct. We learned about the Black Rhino and the rangers who watch over them to keep them safe. We learned some ranger hand-signals and created a poster about black rhinos to help raise their profile.
