Year 4
Year 4 had a brilliant time celebrating Earth Day! They joined Carly from Shine to learn the uplifting Climate Joy song, singing with enthusiasm and thinking about the positive ways we can help our planet. Afterwards, the class took their clipboards outside to enjoy nature and create beautiful drawings inspired by the world around them. It was a lovely way to connect with the environment through both music and art.

Climate Curriculum – Summer Term – Home Learning
Year 4 have been learning about the climate issues and what we can do to make a difference throughout this year because we are taking part in two different climate based projects. Last Wednesday Nell came in from the Green Schools Project to talk to KS2 about the schools carbon footprint. In Year 4, we will be devising our own projects connected to this. You can see our carbon footprint on the Beechwood website climate page.
Because we are learning about Ghana, we found out about climate change in Ghana and a Ghanaian climate activist called Nakeeyat Dramani Sam. She is working hard to make a difference in her home country even though she is still only 14 years old.
We enjoyed going outside to see the daffodil bulbs we planted on our Autumn Climate Joy Day.

Year 4 participated in our Climate Joy day where we got to appreciate the outdoors and learn more about our climate. We started our secret mission to learn how we can make changes to help everyone - we are now Agents of Change. We then spent part of the afternoon planting daffodil bulbs (and were fascinated by how many worms there were). We had a great day
