Library Reading Challenge
Tue 28 Mar 2017Over the Easter holiday, we are running a competition (along with our Leeds East Trust partners) to see which of the school can get the most children going to the library. We want as many of our pupils as possible to visit the library 5 times over the Easter holidays. The library also has special events on over Easter, including Lego Challenges.

Easter egg Competition & Book Sale
Tue 28 Mar 2017We running our ever popular Easter egg decorating competition. All entries in by Friday this week and prizes will be given in assembly on Friday.
On Thursday we are having a Mega £1 book sale. All the books are brand new and have all been discounted to £1. The book sale starts before school at 8:30 am in the small hall. Because of limited supply sales will be limited to 1 book per child.

World Book Day
Sun 05 Mar 2017This week we celebrated World Book Day in school. We had a fantastic dressing up competition in KS1 and almost everyone got dressed up. Well done to the winners, who each got a book from the Book Fair. We also had two authors in. Andy Seed came to speak to Key Stage 2 and Stephen Waterhouse came in to talk to Key Stage 1. -

Children in Need

Well done to everyone who supported our Children in Need events. We raised £1,114.93, which will be split between Children in Need (£558.00) and the NSPCC (556.93). Again many thanks, that is a fantastic total.

Black History Assemblies
Sun 23 Oct 2016Many thanks to all those who attended our Black History Month Assemblies last week. I'm sure everyone will agree that, as ever, Beechwood pupils excelled themselves in their presentations of what they had learnt. -
No Pens Day
Mon 10 Oct 2016No Pens day Wednesday was a great success with over a hundred parents attending. We all had fun doing the quiz in the community garden and everyone enjoyed the mobile farm. A big thank you to everyone who came.
